How your Four Pillars reading works

What is a BaZi calculator?

A BaZi calculator turns your birth date, time and place into the four pillars of the Chinese Four Pillars system: eight characters, each carrying one of the five elements. From them it finds your Day Master, the element that stands for you, and the balance of elements around it.

Is this BaZi reading free?

Yes. Your chart, Day Master, archetype card and five-element balance are free, with nothing to install and no account needed.

What if I don't know my birth time?

Choose “Not sure.” Your Day Master comes from your birth date, so you'll still get your element and a three-pillar reading. We leave the hour pillar open rather than guess it.

Is my Chinese element the same as my zodiac year element?

No. The year element is shared by everyone born that year. Your personal element is your Day Master's element, which comes from the day you were born. See What's my Chinese element? for the full explanation.
